Who we are

Explain Legal is a Chrome extension that automatically scans SaaS Terms of Service on pricing pages. It is operated by Romain Loupias, based in Toulouse, France. Contact: romain.loupias@gmail.com

What data we collect

We collect only the minimum data required to operate the service:

• Email address — collected when you first use the extension, used to manage your free scan count and send you product updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Usage count — we store how many analyses you have performed to enforce the freemium model (3 free scans).
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not track your browsing history
• We do not store the content of pages you visit
• We do not sell your data to third parties
• We do not use your data for advertising

How we use your data

• To manage your free scan limit
• To activate unlimited access after payment
• To send you product updates (you can unsubscribe at any time)

Data storage

Your email and usage count are stored securely in Upstash Redis (EU region). Payment data is stored by Stripe. Email communications are handled by Brevo.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at romain.loupias@gmail.com.

Cookies

The Explain Legal Chrome extension does not use cookies. The explainlegal.com website does not use tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
