What Explain Legal does

Explain Legal uses AI to analyze legal documents you upload and surface plain-English summaries, potential red flags, and questions to ask. This is not legal advice. Explain Legal does not replace a licensed attorney, and you should not rely on it as a substitute for professional legal counsel for important decisions.

Free tier & usage limits

Free accounts get 3 document analyses. We may adjust this limit at any time; we'll aim to give notice for reductions.

Billing — no dark patterns

We believe billing should be transparent:

• Pricing is shown clearly before you pay — no hidden fees, no surprise charges
• You can cancel a subscription anytime, in one click, via the Stripe Customer Portal (linked from your confirmation email and account area) — no need to email support or jump through hoops
• No silent trial-to-subscription conversion — if you're on a free trial, we'll tell you clearly before any charge occurs
• Refunds: one-time analysis purchases are non-refundable once used. Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds for unused time, and no charge for the next period after you cancel
